| The City of Pripyat was built mainly for the workers on the nuclear plant. A huge nuclear plant was planned to be built, supplying most of both Belarus and Ukraine with electricity. The city was built to show the world how the workers of the Soviet Union lived and thus it feels largely as a show-town. The entire city was evacuated two days after the accident. |
